What Are You Talking About?

Photo credit: www.svtrinity.tv Terminology can be confusing. Most terminology is only fully understood within its original context, and even then it can be vague and confusing. The Christian faith is no exception.

Christian terminology is often referred to as Christianese, but other descriptions could fit—Bible-talk, Bible-babble, God-talk—well, you get the idea. Sadly, this is not recognized as a problem by many well-intentioned Christian believers.

I've written several posts that address this, and I've listed them after the videos below. I hope you'll take some time to check them out.

Here's a video that expresses this dilemma in a humorous way— enjoy and learn!

A Dilemma

What Gives Words Their Meaning?

Make sure that when you share your life story (testimony) that you don't sound like the guy in the following video!

Do you have some funny experiences where you've either used Christianese that confused people, or where you've been the one confused by others using it?

I'd love to hear your comments... keep them short and sweet (don't be mean!), and feel free to share this post with others. Thanks for reading!
